The Best Tomato Sandwich Bruschetta Recipe

Taking the tomato sandwich to a whole new level: southern ease meets rustic Italian chic!

– 4 large slices artisan country style bread, I used a green olive bread – 4 Tbsp mayonnaise, preferably Duke's, find Duke's Mayo here – 2-3 ripe beefsteak tomatoes, or heirloom tomatoe – kosher salt and fresh cracked black pepper – basil leaves, optional



Toast the bread until it is brown and crisp, and maybe even a little charred. This can be done in a grill pan, a toaster oven, or a toaster.

Take the tomatoes and cut them up. Spread mayonnaise on each piece of bread.

Step 3

Add tomato dices on top. Add pepper, salt, and basil leaves, if you want to use them. If the bread pieces are too big, cut them in half and serve right away.
