Easy Beer Cheese Dip Recipe

For game days, drink parties, and holiday get-togethers this fall, you'll want to bring this 15-minute beer cheese dip.

– 4 Tbsp salted butter – 4 Tbsp all purpose flour – 12 ounces sharp cheddar cheese. I used 8 ounces of spreadable sharp cheddar cheese and 4 ounces of shredded sharp cheddar* – 12 ounces beer

Ingredients

Instruction

In a pot with a heavy bottom, melt the butter over medium heat. Then, add the flour and stir it in.

Step 1

Step 2

Stir it for one or two minutes, but don't let it turn brown. As you whisk or stir the mixture, slowly add the beer. Keep doing this until it gets thicker and just starts to bubble.

Step 3

Remove from heat and add cheese in batches. Whisk or whisk until all cheese is incorporated and the dip is smooth. If needed, heat the pan again.

Step 4

If your dip is too thick, you can add a little more beer now. Serve hot with bread or chips to dip them in.
