Super Chocolate Pot de Crème Recipe

There's nothing better than a pot de creme for chocolate fans. Make one for someone you care about.

– 8 ounces semi sweet, dark, or bittersweet chocolate – 4 large eggs yolk – 2 cups heavy cream – 1 tsp espresso powder or instant espresso, optional – 1/4 tsp salt – 2 tsp vanilla extract GARNISH, OPTIONAL – whipped cream – chocolate shaving



Place finely chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl or quart-sized glass measuring cup or batter dish with a spout. Finely chop/shred chocolate.

Helps melt efficiently. Whisk egg yolks, heavy cream, salt, and espresso powder in a medium saucepan.

Over medium heat, whisk and then use a silicone spoonula to heat the mixture until it almost boils. When it starts to simmer, remove it from heat.

Step 4

Pour heated cream over chopped chocolate immediately. Mix them slowly until the chocolate is melted and shiny. Mix in vanilla.

Step 5

Pour the mixture into 6 tiny vessels immediately. Chill for 2 hours to firm up. You can make these the day before. Top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
