Chewy Chocolate Chunk Honey Sesame Cookies Recipe

Chewy Chocolate Chunk Honey Sesame Cookies—easy and delicious.  The recipe uses brown butter, delicious honey, whole wheat flour, chocolate chunks, toasted sesame seeds, and no processed sugar. Each cookie features chewy edges and soft, chocolatey interiors, making them especially tasty!  

– 1 stick (1/2 cup) salted butter – 1/2 cup honey – 1 large egg – 2 teaspoons vanilla extract – 1 1/2 cups white whole wheat flour – 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon – 3/4 teaspoon baking soda – 1/2 teaspoon salt – 1 1/2 cups chopped chocolate chunks or chip – 1/3 cup toasted sesame seed

Warm the oven up to 350° F. Put parchment paper on the bottom of a baking sheet.

Add butter to a medium-heat skillet. Cook until butter browns, 3–4 minutes. Off the heat and into a heatproof bowl. Cool for 5 minutes.

Whisk honey, egg, and vanilla into browned butter until smooth. Combine whole wheat flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt. Stir in chocolate and sesame seeds.

Chill the dough for 10 minutes. Roll the dough into tablespoon-sized balls and set 2 inches apart on the baking pan. Softly flatten the dough.

Step 4

Bake 8 minutes. Rotate and press the baking sheet 1-2 times to flatten after removing from the oven. Bake another 2-3 minutes until the edges of the cookies are barely setting.

Step 5

Leave cookies on baking sheet to cool. While on the baking pan, they will cook slightly. Eat warm (recommended) or chill and keep in an airtight jar for 4 days
