Vanilla Hot Chocolate Molten Cookies Recipe

Vanilla Hot Chocolate Molten Cookies. Delicious homemade chocolate cookies that taste like creamy vanilla hot chocolate! These cookies contain real vanilla essence, semi-sweet chocolate chips, cocoa powder, and huge chunks of dark chocolate. A little sea salt after baking makes them wonderful.  

Ingredient

– 6 tablespoons salted butter – 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips – 3 large eggs, at room temperature – 1/2 cup granulated sugar – 2 tablespoons vanilla extract – 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour – 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder – 1/2 teaspoon baking soda – 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt – 6 ounces dark or semi-sweet chocolate, chopped – Flaky sea salt

Heat the oven to 350°F. Parchment two baking sheets.   Melt butter and chocolate chips in the microwave.

Mix eggs and sugar in a bowl until bubbles form, about 2 minutes. Whisk in vanilla and melted chocolate until shiny. Mix flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt just until mixed.

Mix in chocolate bits. Freeze the basin and let the dough set for 30 minutes until scoopable. This batter should be thick like fudge. Do not skip this. Essential to the recipe.

Line a small freezer-safe baking sheet or plate with parchment paper. Scoop dough into balls with a 1/4 cup cookie scoop and set on baking sheet. Freeze until stiff, 15–30 minutes.

Do not skip this. Essential to the recipe. Take the dough balls from the freezer. Use the prepared baking sheet. Place cookies 2 inches apart.

Cookies should be doughy in the centre and set around the edges after 8-12 minutes. Cool on pan. Season with sea salt.

Serve warm or cool and keep in an airtight jar for 4 days. Warm chocolate with whipped cream is great for dipping.
