It's classy, tastes great, and is very simple to make green beans almondine. It's a side food that everyone loves for holidays and family meals.
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter – 1 tsp salt (use to taste if using salted butter) – 1/2 cup sliced almonds – 1 to 1.5 lbs green beans, trimmed
In a skillet, melt butter and salt and add almond slices. Stir almost constantly over medium heat until butter is caramelized and almonds are golden.
Approximately 5 minutes. Set the pan aside. Stay near the pan to avoid butter burning.
Place trimmed beans in a large microwaveable bowl with 1/2 cup water. Cover the bowl with a paper towel and microwave on high for 4 minutes.
Take the bowl out and throw the beans. Cover and microwave another 2 minutes. Quickly drain the beans and add them to the skillet with butter and almonds.
If the butter has cooled, mix everything well over medium heat. Place the beans in a bowl and serve immediately.
