Warm the oven up to 350F. Spray baking spray that won't stick on a 9x5 loaf pan. Put parchment paper around the edges of the pan to make it easy to take the food out.

Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium basin. Set aside.Mash three ripe bananas with a fork or potato masher in a small bowl.

Mix melted butter and brown sugar into a thick paste in a medium bowl. Mix mashed bananas, sour cream, and vanilla. Combine.

Add eggs one at a time and stir well. All dry components should be mixed together. Bananas make the batter lumpy. Include all chocolate chips.

Pour batter into loaf pan. Fill the pan ¾ full. A muffin pan may hold excess batter. Sprinkle more chocolate chunks on batter.

Baking banana bread takes 50-60 minutes. The banana bread is done when a toothpick comes out clean. After 10 minutes, remove banana bread from pan to cooling rack. Allow banana bread to cool completely before serving.
