– 1 1/2 sticks (3/4 cup) salted butter– 1/2 cup maple syrup– 1 cup brown sugar– 2 egg– 1-2 tablespoons vanilla extract– 2 cups all-purpose flour– 1 teaspoon baking powder– 1-2 tablespoons instant espresso or coffee powder– 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt– 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chip– Flaky sea salt (optional)

Heat the oven to 350°F. For a 9x13 baking dish, use parchment paper.

Put butter in a medium pot over medium heat. Brown the butter for 2-3 minutes till it smells toasted.

Stir in brown sugar and maple syrup after removing from heat. Let cool 5 minutes.

Whisk eggs and vanilla. Mix in flour, baking powder, espresso/coffee powder, and salt. Just blend. Mix in chocolate chips.
