Apple Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

These apple cinnamon buns are fluffy and gooey. They have spiced chopped apples and cinnamon filling. Cream cheese brown butter frosting tops the rolls. 

Ingredient

– 1 cup Milk warmed to 110°F – 2 ¼ teaspoon Active dry yeast or 1 packet – 2 Large eggs room temperature – 4 ½ cups All-purpose flour – 1 teaspoon Salt – ¼ cup White granulated sugar – 10 tablespoon Unsalted butter room temperature and cubed – ½ cup Unsalted butter room temperature – ½ cup Brown sugar packed light or dark – 2 teaspoon Ground cinnamon – 2 Gala apples diced very finely – 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon – ½ teaspoon Ground ginger – ¼ teaspoon Ground nutmeg – 4 oz Cream cheese room temperature – 4 tablespoon Unsalted butter browned – 1 teaspoon Pure vanilla extract – 1 cup Powdered sugar – 1 tablespoon Milk

A microwave-safe dish should have 110°F milk. Top with yeast and wait 10 minutes. Lightly beat eggs in another dish. Set aside.While yeast sits, combine flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.

Add milk and eggs.Use dough hook-equipped stand mixers. Mix by hand instructions are in notes. Mix on low until a dough forms and flour is added. Medium-speed knead for 5 minutes.

Spray a large bowl with nonstick spray and add the dough. Wrap with a kitchen towel. Heat the oven to 200°F. Put the bowl in the oven, turn it off, and open the door. Let rise 1 hour.

In a small bowl, whisk butter, brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons cinnamon with a hand mixer. Cut apples tiny. Larger ones won't roll properly. Mix cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg with the apples in a separate dish.

Punch and roll the dough on a lightly floured surface. Form a huge ¼-inch-thick rectangle.Use an icing spatula to cover the dough with cinnamon filling. Sprinkle apples on top. Form a log from the short side.

Cut uneven ends using a serrated knife. Cut into 12 rolls. For precision, measure using a tape. Spray 9X13 pan with nonstick baking spray. Put buns in pan.Let rise 25 minutes in a kitchen towel-covered pan. Heat the oven to 375°F.

Bake until roll tops are light golden brown, 22–28 minutes.Prepare the frosting while the rolls bake. Butter in frying pan. Stir until milk deposits separate and become amber. Let it cool to room temperature.

Mix cream cheese and brown butter with a hand mixer until creamy. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk and stir until pourable.Ice the rolls just after they come out of the oven.
